WHY UV?

Most printers in the UK offer standard litho printing, using inks that are dried with a combination of heat and powder sprays. This type of printing can take some time to dry after printing and can only be used to print on paper.

Colour Five offer UV printing which uses special inks, dried by high intensity UV lights. When the sheets leave the machine they are completely dry and ready to be cut or moved - so there is no risk of set-off or rub, even with large solids.

The special UV inks and drying mean that we can print on plastics and foiled board as well as well as "normal" paper and board, guaranteeing that the ink will be dry and durable. For maximum efficiency we can print both sides of a B1 sheet at the same time, and apply an in-line high gloss UV varnish.
